SESSION: Alberta Municipalities - Transitioning to a Low Carbon Future

Peter Vana is General Manager of Development Services for Parkland County. The Development Services Division is comprised of the Environmental Services and Community Sustainability portfolio, Intelligent Communities initiative, Planning and Development Services Department, and Economic Development and Tourism Services Department. Mr. Vana currently oversees a number of program initiatives related to climate change and community sustainability.

For the past decade, Mr. Vana has worked with members of the development industry, other levels of government, and non-governmental agencies to pioneer the concept and developments using the SuN (Sustainable Urban Neighbourhoods) Living: developing neighbourhoods with a one planet footprint model; and development and use of community district energy for the Centre In The Park urban village development utilizing alternative energy sources.
